Remembrance day
Our school is incredibly proud to have embraced Remembrance Day with deep respect and gratitude, reflecting our commitment to British values and honouring those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
This day provided a meaningful opportunity for students in tutor groups to embrace aspects of the History, Art, and English curriculums to engage in thoughtful and creative work, producing powerful tributes including hand-crafted poppies, expressive artwork, historical exhibits, and poignant poems. The students' dedication to this project has been remarkable, showing their empathy and emotional insight into the experiences of those who lived through World War I and II.
A quote that resonates deeply with our shared sentiments is, “They gave their tomorrow for our today.” We extend a heartfelt thank you to Miss. Jarman for leading the door decoration competition and tutors for the work they have done which has highlighted the powerful role of literacy in evoking emotion and fostering empathy. Through their work, our students have honoured history and shown a profound understanding of the values of remembrance and respect. Thank you all, Mrs Jackman
