Music Update

This half term, students in Year 7 are learning about the pentatonic scale, and some of the traditional instruments and music from China and Japan in their music lessons; they have been learning how to play a traditional piece of Japanese music called 'Sakura' (which means Cherry Blossom) on keyboards and guitars.

The Year 7s have shown that they won't let the pandemic affect their love and enjoyment of music, and both Mr Richards and Miss Harris are extremely impressed with the standard and quality of work that is being achieved as well as some of the difficult pronunciations of the unique instruments like 'Shakuhachi' and 'Shamisen'! Great work, Year 7!
