GCSE Results 2019
From Mr Scott Yalden, Headteacher:
This year has seen some standout performances from our students as a result of all their hard work preparing for this summer's exams. We are really pleased with the progress these results show across the board. Nearly 40% of students are leaving the Academy this year with at least one grade 7 or above and 10% are leaving with at least one grade 9 which is the highest grade.Only around 5% of entries nationally in a GCSE are awarded a grade 9 so this is a fantastic achievement. Once again we have seen a rise in the number of students leaving with standard passes (grade 4 and above) in English and Maths and another good performance in strong passes at grade 5.
63% of students achieved 5 GCSEs grade 4 or above including English and Maths. 40% of students did so at grade 5 or above.
I would like to thank Academy staff for their hard work supporting the students through these rigorous qualifications and wish the students well as they leave us to the next stage in their education or training.
From Mrs Kathy Iles, Chair of Governors:
I am really pleased with how these results build on last year’s successes and, on the back of this year’s fantastic Ofsted report, demonstrates that the Academy continues to go from strength to strength.
