2017 Exam Success

Despite changes in the exam system, Looe Community Academy's 2017 exam results have delivered outstanding progress and achievement for many students to reward their academic endeavours.  Of note, for such a small school, is that 3 students achieved the new top Level 9 pass in maths, an outstanding achievement.

Headteacher Heather Jenkins said "The Class of 2017 must be congratulated on their effort and achievements within a new exam regime.  Every student has their own personal achievements and so many have clearly worked tremendously hard to secure superb results.  Staff, SMART trustees and LCA governors wish all our leavers every success in their chosen pathways and we would like to thank parents on behalf of the students for engaging with the school to help them to achieve.  Our staff have delivered magnificently within an ever-changing environment.  We look forward to working in the SMART multi academy trust to improve even further through collaboration and staff development."

While the majority of students attained their personal targets, the Academy would like to recognise a few of the many outstanding achievements by congratulating some of those gaining 12 or more A*to C grades (or the equivalent new Level 9 to 4 grades): Cali Mae Willett (13 passes - 12 at A/A*), Alice Ede (13 passes - 10 at A/A*), Tobias Robertson (13 passes - 7 at A/A*) and Neo Cass (12 passes - 7 at A/A*).

There were also excellent results for many Year 10 students studying their one-year option courses.
